Ryu Renshi-Dan Karate was developed by Kyoshi Jose Guzman, 7th Dan, as a blend of traditional martial arts styles (Shotokan, Isshin Ryu, Goju) with modern self-defense and combat techniques (Kurai Ryu Jujitsu, Goshindo Jujitsu/Judo and others). In addition to being the Founder and Chief Instructor of Ryu Renshi-Dan Karate, Kyoshi Guzman is a certified instructor in the highly-regarded CDT (Compliance, Direction and Takedown) method, and a respected educator and administrator in the New York City school system, focusing on children’s special educational needs.
