Ryu Renshi-Dan
Ryu Renshi-Dan Karate was developed by Kyoshi Jose Guzman, 7th Dan, as a blend of traditional martial arts styles (Shotokan, Isshin Ryu, Goju) with modern self-defense and combat techniques (Goshindo Jujitsu and others). In addition to being the Founder and Chief Instructor of Ryu Renshi-Dan Karate, Kyoshi Guzman is a certified instructor in the highly-regarded CDT (Compliance, Direction and Takedown) method, and a respected educator and administrator in the New York City school system, focusing on children’s special educational needs.
The Hombu (or Headquarters) Dojo is located at 96 Main Street in Dobbs Ferry, NY. This was the first of the Ryu Renshi-Dan Karate dojos, and was established in 1977, more than 26 years ago. Other Ryu Renshi-Dan dojos are located in Bronxville NY, Pawling NY, Bloomfield NJ and Rincon PR.
